You may have seen it in the latest Vogue Living. You may have followed its progress on Anna Spiro’s Instagram account. You may have only seen it in your dreams. Halcyon House, the new boutique hotel at Cabarita Beach in Northern New South Wales. Pattern on pattern with bold colour and crisp white, gallery walls and vintage pieces. A once down at heels beach motel has risen phoenix like to become a glam but welcoming, casually elegant holiday destination. Architecture by Virginia Kerridge and interiors by Anna Spiro of Black & Spiro.
Nobody quite does saturated colour as well as French antique dealer Florence Lopez.
If the previous beach house was about washed out sea glass hues then this Manly Beach apartment by Brett Mickan Interior Design is all about the bright play of sea blues and greens. Bold with a hint of retro beach shack kitsch, it’s high holiday style with a touch of fun.
This Amsterdam home blows my mind. If I walked in someone would need to hold me up because I would probably drop to the floor. Seriously though, the architecture, the bold colours, the herringbone hardwood floor, the checkerboard marble tile, those freaking windows (!!!)…then throw in some cool mid-century furniture and I totally become weak in the knees. Again by interior designer Roelfien Vos.
I wanted to share another project by Fox Design Studio, this time it is a home located in West Vancouver. This colour palette is similar to the last with the addition of blue, which only totally fitting for a home with ocean views. Full home renovation and redecoration for an empty nester’s second home. Sited on a rocky outcropping overlooking the Pacific, this large, east-coast inspired home features ocean inspired tones layered with classic luxury patterns and finishes.
