Everything and the kitchen sink

Posted on Thu, 14 Nov 2019 by midcenturyjo

Good looking and functional. From the cleverly thought out pull outs and pop outs to the hidden chargers and power points. From the carefully executed joinery and details to the simple joy of ample light through beautiful windows and considered places for the family to come together. I think we can say that this kitchen by Westchester County, NY based interiors firm Studio Dearborn has everything you need including the kitchen sink 😉 My favourite? The pull out tea drawer. Now I’ve seen it I need it.

Colour blocking in a Moscow apartment

Posted on Wed, 13 Nov 2019 by KiM

For an architecture and design firm that typically only creates spaces in black, white and grey, this 80 sq m apartment in Moscow was quite a departure. A.T.Ø (Architecture Technology Objects) Studio went a little crazy with red, pink, green and blue in this project and I’m digging the outcome. It is as bold as they come, and alot of fun.

Colours and patterns, and more colours and patterns in this Tulsa, Oklahoma home designed by Mel Bean Interiors. This could not be more bold and unexpected in what appears to be a fairly traditional home. I applaud Mel for bringing on the sass and breaking all the rules with this project.

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say time and time again. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Bennetts Hill House by Run for the Hills.

Chasing the dream – cool by the sea

Posted on Thu, 31 Oct 2019 by midcenturyjo

Contemporary by the sea with a mid century vibe taken to the next level with terracotta floors, limewashed ceilings, concrete accents and Oblica fireplace. Add in the bold art works and on point furnishings and this is one cool beach shack in Jan Juc on Victoria’s Surf Coast. Unfortunately for us it has been quickly snapped up. Link here while it lasts.
