Just the thought of travelling again has me finding the most amazing hotels everywhere (or is that my algorithm?). How about LA’s Hotel Alsace by Home Studios? Mediterranean riffs with natural materials. Think terracotta hues, handmade tiles, rattan and wood, vintage pieces mixed with contemporary furniture. It’s on the bucket list.

This stunning 800 year old château is located in the heart of a lush valley in the Dordogne region of South West France has been in the same aristocratic French family since it was built. It can be rented in its entirety or by wing/room at certain times of the year. Château de la Bourlie is currently home to artist Cyril de Commarque and his family, and has been sympathetically renovated – a medieval kitchen was preserved whilst a contemporary kitchen created for the chef. The juxtaposition of old and new here is brilliant.

Near the Yosemite national park entrance is AutoCamp Yosemite, a really cool setup that includes a mid-century modern clubhouse, a general store, swimming pool, and accommodations that includes Airstreams, luxury tents, basecamps and cabins.
