Simple House

Posted on Mon, 9 Sep 2019 by midcenturyjo

From the maximalism of my previous house to this simple addition and alteration by Sydney-based architect Rachel Hudson. Light. airy and modern with a nod to old beach shacks it may be simple but it’s also stylish and very liveable.

Terrazzo and Togo

Terrazzo and Togo what more could you want? A fabulous contemporary addition to a California Bungalow in Melbourne’s inner city suburbs is the icing on the cake. Brunswick West House by architecture and interior design firm Taylor Knights.

Move towards the light

It’s a little slice of heaven. A NYC loft with fabulous bones and an interior by design firm Sissy + Marley. Light floods in through arched windows while oak floors and exposed beams enhance the industrial feel. One moment it’s dramatic, the next serene but always a chic, always inspiring, family home. If luxury loft living in the Big Apple has been a dream of yours I suggest you move towards the light.

A masterclass in layering textures

It’s warm, casual and super stylish. It’s all you’d expect from a vacation home … hang on it’s more than you’d expect from a vacation home.  A mix of high end and the found, family memories, a soft desert palette and the texture, all that glorious layering of texture. Just down the road from the last house is this little white cottage built in 1847 but now a sophisticated home for modern living. Perhaps not as grand as the last house but a little more to my liking. Less housework anyway 🙂 Link here while it lasts.
