Joyous

“Interior Design project of 1 bedroom residence in Bebek, Istanbul. Designed for a single professional, this Pied-á-terre is created by combining vibrant energetic colors and various forms of comfortable furniture and lighting. Almost all of the furniture, lighting and rugs are designed and custom made by Merve Kahraman design studio blending together with vintage founds and contemporary accessories. The concept was to create diversity by designing multiple spaces in this fresh and cozy apartment situated in the heart of Bosphorus.”

A revelry of colour and pattern with a distinct Memphis riff by New York/Istanbul-based interior and product designer Merve Kahraman. Joyous and cutting edge.

Sensuous and moody

“We named this project the Brazilian Treehouse as we wanted it to visually feel like a sexy Stan Getz song. There was a certain romance to this project with our use of organic materials, lush colors and mood tones.”

When your career has included producing and directing music videos then it’s no surprise the rooms you create are a little rock ‘n roll.  Saturated colours and textures as well as a love for statement vintage pieces are typical of Tiffany Howell of Los Angles-based design studio Night Palm. Think edgy yet sophisticated, moody and sensuous.

“Overlooking the bay of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, this refined, metropolitan abode is steeped in elemental materials and natural light. The restful interiors couple burnished metal with raw wood and a lush neutral palette for a look that is classic and composed, spirited yet serene.”

Just the tiniest of teasers that leaves you wanting more, so much more. Just 4 photos but it’s certainly worth it. Caroubiers by French Riviera based interior designer JeanCharlesTomas.

Chinoiserie, checks and cocktails

“This spacious family home in Parsons Green delights with beautiful details at every turn, from bold chinoiserie wallpaper in the drawing room to a deep green panelled bathroom featuring luxe Arabescato book-matched marble slabs. Bespoke joinery was designed for the dressing room as well as a bar unit in the reception room, painted in high gloss for impact.”

Quintessentially English. Quintessentially fabulous. Parsons Green by Rosanna Bossom.

Reflections and warm colours

I looooove how Iñigo Aragón and Pablo López Navarro of design firm Casa Josephine Studio took what could have easily read as a very cold and small apartment (70 sqm located in the center of Madrid) and created just the opposite. Painted out brick, stone, concrete with exposed beams and a concrete floor in pale grey keep things light and add a coziness, fabrics in rusts and orange shades add warmth, and stainless and tons of mirror provide much reflection and make the space seem larger. Genius. (Photos: Pablo Zamora)
