“A coastal restoration project, where 100-year-old limestone walls are complemented by a refined palette of travertine and stainless steel. Sophisticated, highly planned spaces are designed to rejuvenate and inspire.”

Bold in form and strong in simplicity. That’s how Pandolfini Architects describe their work and this Mornington Peninsula beach house is a standout example.

Contemporary French chic in this family home Biarritz-based L’Atelier Delphine Carrere. Think concrete cave with double height voids punching out the space while timber slats not only soften the sun and the hard materials but provide warming caramel tones. A play of positive and negative, man made and natural, inside and out.

Living above the shop

It’s fabulous to be back blogging in a new year. Here’s to 2022 being so much better and brighter than last year. I couldn’t think of a better home to start off the year than this apartment above a shop … but not just any shop. It’s Barracuda Interiors showroom in the sea side town of Comporta, Portugal. Think relaxed beachy vibe with natural materials, old found pieces and the occasional pop of colour against a bleached out colour palette. The perfect holiday getaway or imagine being lucky enough to enjoy it year round.
