Rustic meets modern meets a simple beauty in this Barcelona house by Cobalto Studio. Restrained almost severe but tempered with a tactile element. “This historic Victorian townhouse located in Notting Hill, London, was reconfigured for an active family of five. The original building’s interior had narrow circulation and small, boxy rooms. It was gutted and replaced with a new central staircase and streamlined rooms that emphasize comfort and family friendliness. New open plan living spaces were created on the ground floor and transitional details are found throughout, striking a balance between the historic and the modern.”
