Casa Pueblo

Posted on Thu, 11 Jul 2019 by midcenturyjo

Time for a virtual getaway. We’re escaping to a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel Casa Pueblo in Tulum, Mexico. “At the nexus of tropical bohemianism and clean urban design, the hotel offers a host of features, from fresh dining options, to a sparkling pool, an organic coffee shop, and 16 beautifully appointed rooms.” Simple and stylish luxury in a beautiful part of the world. Couldn’t think of a better escape even if it’s only a virtual one … for now.

Sunny Scandinavian Californian style

When a textile and jewellery designer approached Brad Krefman of BK Interior Design to redesign her home in the hills of Mill Valley, California what was the result? A home that is bright and open, functional with high end finishes, light filled and fabulous, contemporary with a Scandinavian vibe, the perfect home for the client and her family.

P.S. If you love that fabulous painting in the dining room it’s Cool With Chloe, 2015 40×42 inches, acrylic on cut paper by Reed Anderson.

Casa nas Dunas

I’m daydreaming … again. A beach house somewhere exotic, well at least exotic to me.  Somewhere simple but stylish, relaxed and beautiful. A house where bare feet are de rigueur as are long lunches with friends, dips in the pool, walks by the ocean. A house with natural finishes and layers of texture and a monochrome palette.  A house in the dunes in Comporta, Portugal by Isabelle Stanislas.

Zellige zeitgeist

Sensuous and stylish or a lumpy, bumpy fad? Quite frankly I don’t care where you sit on the zellige tile spectrum because I’m firmly on the sensuous side when it comes to this shower room designed by Portland-based Kaemingk Design. The whole room is a neutral nirvana with its natural patina, imperfection and texture. You can see the designers’ own home here.

Working on a Saturday

Week in week out it’s always the same. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere super stylish and boy oh boy this is another case of wanting to move into the shop. I’ll just set up my bed in the corner thank you. IN BED retail store by Triibe.
