The Old Manor

Posted on Tue, 1 Feb 2022 by KiM

What a dream! Houses like this make me want to cry they’re so beautiful. This magnificent seven-bedroom, Grade I-listed house occupies an excellent position in the sought-after village of Croscombe, at the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset. The interior is replete with exquisite architectural features, ecclesiastical motifs and Palladian cornicing. Internal living space extends to over 4,500 sq ft across three storeys, with further opportunity to convert the adjoining coach house and attic rooms. The Old Manor is thought to have been built in 1460, originally as a rectorial manor house. The house is characterised by roughcast, limewashed walls and a magnificent Tudor chimney pot. A château for sale in Normandy

Posted on Sun, 30 Jan 2022 by KiM

Yesterday I found myself down a rabbit hole of castles for sale and spotted this beauty in Bouquetot, Normandy. The landscaping is exquisite, and for a change the interior is actually quite beautifully decorated. Now if I could just come up with the 2 300 000 € to make this 7 bedroom, 5 bathroom, 5654 ft² château of my dreams mine… (For sale via Belle Demeures)

An Oxford country house

This Oxford home is what country living dreams are made of. An absolute beauty inside and out. Much of the furnishings are quite traditional but if you look a little closer you will spot details that are a bit more current, which makes me love this even more. Designed by VSP Interiors.

Ballinlough Castle

Posted on Sun, 23 Jan 2022 by KiM

I am convinced that if I were ever to visit a castle, a home with details this exquisite that I would probably pass right out. This is truly incredible. Ballinlough Castle, County Westmeath, Ireland has been home to the Nugent family for over 400 years. The 17th century Georgian castle was sensitively refreshed by Todhunter Earle Interiors when the current occupants, a young family, took over the house. The bedrooms have been brightened with large scale wallpapers and fabrics, beds re-dressed and new bathrooms installed. The essence of the traditional Irish castle has been retained, whilst updating the house for modern living.
