You know you’re good at your job when you help a client with the gut and renovation of their home so they could sell it, only for them to love it so much they decide to stay. Another winning design by Alisa and Lysandra. Love the subtle pink accents in the living room.

Alisa and Lysandra – a penthouse apartment

Posted on Mon, 16 May 2016 by KiM

I love this stylish penthouse apartment in Melbourne, Australia designed by ‘design duo’ Alisa and Lysandra. What was once a new build complete with builder’s beige walls and not much else to speak of, this home is now contemporary, filled with life (the plants! it even has a massive plant wall!) and has an underlying earthy vibe that keeps it very casual and not so high-rise-y.

A masculine penthouse

I am bringing the work week to a close with this beauty I found by interior designer Sayre Victoria Ziskin of SVZ. It has masculine vibe with blue and black accent colours and some hard edges and industrial furnishings, but then throw in an overly (in a good way) tufted velvety sofa and the vibe becomes just a bit more feminine and playful. Overall this home is cohesive and edgy and I love it – especially all the plants, my favourite addition to a room. And check out the amazing planter in the corner of the dining room!

A rustic home with contemporary style

I have featured projects by Vancouver’s Fox Design Studio in the past (here, here and here) and I continue to marvel at their talents at creating contemporary, eye-catching, spaces with incredible attention to detail. Each room in this home shares a similar colour palette of greys and white with touches of black and then pops of blue. It’s a soothing, relaxing vibe that flows throughout this beautiful, rustic home. I want those sheep statues on my porch too!

Les Parcs in Saint-Tropez

Posted on Tue, 10 May 2016 by KiM

In need of a little Tuesday pick-me-up? A break from the everyday? A virtual vacay in paradise? As much as I would love to be on a plane headed to Saint-Tropez to brush up on my French and my faded tan and relax, I will take this dose of eye candy of Les Parcs designed by Mis-en scène 40. Glorious! You’ll probably find me on the premises drooling over those cactuses, or lounging on one of those Bertoia Bird chairs. (A couple more features on this firm here and here)
