The Man Next Door

I love a shop with soul. Nothing cookie cutter. Personality and pizzazz. Just like this menswear store designed by Sydney-based Josephine Hurley Architecture.

An apartment in Milan

Posted on Mon, 30 Nov 2015 by KiM

I dream about moving to a European city and living in an apartment with original details, herringbone floors and really tall windows and the decor would be sparse and vintage. It would look exactly like this. Funny how this space gives off more of a “broke student” vibe if it were in North America. Amiright? One Girl Interiors

Suzanne of Melbourne-based design firm One Girl Interiors creates wonderfully warm and inviting spaces with backdrops of white and grey, pastel accents and bits of navy and black to keep things from leaning too much to the feminine side. She loves mixing old and new, high and low, colours that make you smile, and anything quirky or whimsical. I adore this first kitchen for its simplicity and now I’m loving navy a little bit more.

Stalking Albert Einstein

Someone really, really, really likes Albert Einstein. What I really like are the stairs, that floor level window in the living room and the lap pool that stretches from the front yard to the back under the bridge-like entrance hall. I’m stalking in Brighton in Melbourne. Link here while it lasts.

Bar envy

Isn’t this just the most fantastic little built-in bar?! Gawd I love this, having dreamed of having a dedicated bar area for years but never really having enough space or a decent spot. I would take this and make it slightly wider with shelving on the sides to display bottles of booze. *sigh* Via Incorporated Architecture & Design
