What a wonderful, colourful home hides behind the simple, historical facade. Renovation and extension by Sydney-based architectural firm The World is Round.

This apartment designed by Antonino Buzzetta is HOT STUFF! In every apartment or house there should be a cohesive thread that starts at the front door and continues to the bedroom. In the case of this Greenwich Village Pied-à-terre, the first thread was our decision to bring this apartment to modern times without loosing it ‘s charm and elegance. In putting the elements together for this 700 ft apartment, I paired velvet and wool with a calming color palate of blues and grays. Geometric patterns were used to visual enhance the dimensions of the space. A unique mix of vintage furnishings, lighting and art adds its distinctive flair.

I was perusing the latest issue of Style At Home magazine and fell in love with this house that was featured. Designed by Melissa Davis and Halina Catherine, it is classic but streamlined and modern, making it fresh and inviting and not at all stuffy. Built in 1987, you would never know it based on its appearance now. I am completely smitten with the hard wood floors and the acrylic-front custom hutch above by Hardware Interiors Studio. My favourite kind of farmhouse is one with a modern twist. This farmhouse in Washington is just that, with a colour palette mostly of black and white, this home is comfortable and casual, with modern and rustic melding together in blissful harmony. My love for a traditional farmhouse table paired with Starck’s Louis Ghost chair (or Panton S chairs) has never wavered. Kudos to H2 Design + Build for killin’ this project. (Photos: Dorothée Brand)

The owners of this Cremorne, Sydney house wanted their interiors to be lived in, warm, inviting and “non-designery”. Their Queen Anne style home was redesigned and extended by Luigi Rosselli architects but they turned to interior designers Decus to weave the magic that saw traditional meet modern, Danish mid century sit with family friendly custom build and everywhere glorious art. Light, bright, modern with a nod and always stylish but never precious. Beautiful, unique, fun.
