I stumbled upon the website of London-based architecture firm Granit Chartered Architects and several of their projects wowed me. They are clearly experts in the art of transforming traditional British homes into bigger, better and more modern structures that keep original details intact where possible. Here are a random assortment of photos from a few of their projects that captured my attention.

Here is a sampling of other interior design works by Copenhagen/New York based Søren Rose Studio. Eye candy for the soul.

Loft lusting right here folks with this stunning beauty in Manhattan by Søren Rose Studio. Hi white painted brick. Hello gorgeous super-wide plank floors (dying!). How you doing super huge windows? I think I love you.

A simple extension to an existing house takes advantage of the views to the surrounding countryside. The feature window in the living area frames the vista while the wood burner sits to the side allowing the occupants to take it all in. Love the use of tongue and groove panelling to add to the country flavour. The rooms are almost Shaker like in their simplicity but there is no doubting that this is modern Australian design. If I’m not curled up in front of the fire and the view I’ll be soaking in the tub with the view. The Plinth House by Luke Stanley Architects.
