There was a time, when considering work spaces to feature in these Working on a Saturday posts, I immediately turned to office set ups. I’m drawn lately to beauty salons and hair dressers. I wonder why? Might have something to do with being trapped at work unable to escape to even get a hair cut. Imagine walking around with a bird’s nest for hair. That’s me 🙂 I would, however, abandon my clients if I had a chance to sit here to be pampered and coiffed. The First Ward, Tulsa Hair Salon by Workstead.

Is there anything cooler in the world of architecture than a Brooklyn brownstone? I think not. Brooklyn-based Bernheimer Architecture has renovated brownstones, lofts, penthouse apartments, warehouses and designed some really fantastic modern homes. I really admire how they incorporate traditional and original with modern and new. It is taking what was SO good back in the day and making it even better today.

About a month ago I shared with you a video that Ikea put together involving hypnotism, time travel and life-changing events. I received the video for part 2 and it is a hoot – waking up to a marriage proposal, suddenly becoming a parent to a teenage rocker son…. “The everyday is exciting! It’s on those seemingly ordinary days life happens and changes. And when it does, so does our home”…”In the new IKEA catalogue you can find solutions for every episode in life”. But does it make the teenage son go away? 😉

My idea of heaven is a cold drink on a hot day, a cool spot to sit and time to do nothing. Wish I was in heaven this weekend 😉 By Marco Meneguzzi.
This is a reminder that the Glebe House Tour is THIS SUNDAY so get your tickets (details here) and enjoy snooping in other people’s homes with me! I have had personal tours of some of my favourite homes on the tour the past couple of years so I thought I would share some of the most memorable spaces. Hope to see some of you locals Sunday!
