Curl up

Posted on Thu, 29 May 2014 by midcenturyjo

Sometimes you just want to curl up. Sometimes you want to escape to a quiet space. Sometimes you need inspiration. Sometimes you find it… in an image, in a portfolio, in a day dream. From the portfolio of photographer Lucas Allen.

Mazen Studio

Posted on Wed, 28 May 2014 by KiM

I would like to introduce you to Mazen El-Abdallah, an interior designer from Toronto who has seriously got it going on. In these photos you will see how Mazen has modernized and stylized 2 very small Victorian rowhouses (the first is a 900 sq ft, the second is 11 ft wide) and made them seriously cool. The entryway in the photo above is perfection and going in my inspiration folder. (Photos by Angus Fergusson and Michael Graydon)

Bold and bright

This is for you all you colour lovers out there. This home has bold colour around every corner and to my surprise, I really like it. It is the townhouse of one of London’s most established florists and is located in Notting Hill. It is such a fun, energetic mix of florals (of course) and stripes, modern and vintage, textures and colours. And you can rent it. 🙂 Check out the details on Domus Nova

From the outside in

Posted on Wed, 28 May 2014 by midcenturyjo

Will you excuse me if I start back to front today? I’ll work my way from the outside in. Amazing outdoor entertaining spaces in this Canterbury, Melbourne home by Neil Architecture. Stylish, mod/traditional home too. Join me for a hit of tennis, perhaps a dip in the pool or just kick back in the cabana? Yes please.

Craziness

It was a very crazy day yesterday. My husband and I made a very quick somewhat drastic decision that still has me a bit shocked/speechless. But it’s time for a change and so this will be the beginnings of many new projects and I can’t wait! I’m being a bit cryptic but you’ll hear more in the near future. I have to run (it’s going to be an unbelieveably hectic few weeks – at my day job too so really bad timing – so please bear with me) but I wanted to share some photos of a really cool studio in a converted factory in Barcelona.
