There’s a passion in photographer Nicole Franzen‘s work. I’ve raved about it before. Self taught and oh so talented. Food, lifestyle, travel. A wonderful way to make your way in life, through a camera, capturing beauty, storytelling with light and lens. And if her professional work inspires you then check out her instagram. You may just become a follower.

I recently started following an Instagram account which captured my attention, which lead me to an online store, and a Facebook account….and I was soon totally smitten. lointerior is the Instagram account of interior stylist Josephine Ekström, who has the most beautiful shop in Sweden called Lily & Oscar. It has a rustic French/Swedish feel with tons of neutral colours, textures and organic shapes mixed with bits of modern designs for a bit of a contemporary edge. Josephine takes photos around her glorious shop, as well as in her home….and here are some of my favourites. (Oh, how freaking stoked I would be if a store like hers opened in Ottawa!)

Is anyone else just DYING for summer to hurry up and arrive? I want to walk on some green grass, enjoy the warm sunshine, maybe sit in a butterfly chair, hang out on a deck and have dinner al fresco.

Australian photographer Anson Smart is a favourite of ours – and is no stranger to the pages of this blog. His photographs are always spot on, delivering juicy eye candy at each capture. I adore each and every one of these spaces.

(the above photos I recognize from stylist Megan Morton’s IG – her home I believe)

Sometimes I want to run away to a calmer life, a simpler house, less possessions, a safe harbour in a storm, to a house perched on a hill surrounded by bush. Today I am dreaming of chasing the late afternoon sun on a deck. Whipbirds crack the air with their song. A chill is creeping up the hill and I’m wondering how long I can leave it before I have to rise and pull the doors to. Perhaps I’ll light my first fire of the season. But not quite now. Just a little more time in the sun. Bonnet Hill House in Tasmania by Dock4.
(Note to Tasmanian readers. I have an inkling that whipbirds are not found on your island but it’s my daydream and they’re my favourite bird call.)
