Modern luxury is all about attention to detail, bespoke craftsmanship and the opulence of simplicity. Quality over quantity. Distinctive, meticulous and refined. Like the Prahran Residence by Lucy Bock Design Studio. The simple juxtaposition of deep blue tile and marble in the kitchen island is sublime.

I have fallen completely in love with this home in Westlake Village, L.A. designed by Amy Elbaum of AE Designs. It is very bright and spacious (hi 3 living rooms!) and Amy has added some fun artwork and doses of bold colours via some of the accent furniture and accessories. A total party pad!!!

Did anyone get a memo saying we had to come back from Bali? (Tuesday’s post here.) I know I didn’t so I’m sitting pool side at Jungle Fish, the no beach… beach club in Ubud. Hurry up and join me. I’m already on my second drink.

I was poking around The Village the other day hoping to find a little gem of an apartment to share here and sure enough, look what I found! This bachelor apartment is 43.5 m2, is owned by a florist and and a photographer, and is really quite charming. I’m featuring it because I fell in love with the simple kitchen and dining area. A beautiful combination of pink, black, green, and white with a touch of crystal sparkle really has me falling in love with this place. I’d love to Airbnb this.

Not only do they look great but they help control temperature and light within the house. What am I talking about? Why the screens that clad this reworked extension to a heritage house in Melbourne by Wolveridge Architects.A contemporary extension with heritage overlays. It’s what Australian architects excel at.
