My heart can’t take how absolutely beautiful this bedroom is. Those shades of grey, brass accents and OMG that tufted velvet headboard!!! By Kingston Lafferty Design.

New York City based interior designer Alexander Doherty is out there making traditional, classical design cool for those who like a dash of elegance in their homes. Timeless and sophisticated, with some funky and unexpected elements added in accessories, art and furniture.

Katrina Hernandez and Joshua Greene both had careers in the fashion industry before transitioning to interior design, opening their own firm Hernandez Greene in 2014. It would be cheesy to say that their rooms are “well dressed” but in fact they are. Well considered, well balanced, almost classic but with an edge, a bold use of colour in an otherwise traditional room or a statement piece of room “jewellery”. Chic and sophisticated, stylish and impeccably tailored like this West Hollywood hacienda from their impressive portfolio.

Because I will never tire of industrial lofts and seeing the different approaches people take with these very open spaces, here is one by one of my all-time favourite interior designers, Hubert Zandberg. Filled with a wide variety of antiques with a bit of a safari theme (warning: there is taxidermy and animal skulls for those who find this offensive please pass over this post), it’s eclectic and unexpected.
