I wanted to share one more project by designer Taylor Jacobson before I call it a day. I love a little shock of colour in a home and this media room/library in a blue (cerulean?) high gloss is gorgeous. It really makes the books and art stand out and adds drama. LOVE.

I am short on pets on furniture entries this week so please send pics to kim[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net or hashtag them on Instagram with #dtipetsonfurniture. In the meantime I bring you some fun, fresh, timeless, slightly bohemian, slightly mid-century, beautifully decorated space by Los Angeles interior designer Taylor Jacobson. I even found a pet on furniture photo in Taylor’s portfolio to include in this post. 🙂

I have pretty much died and gone to heaven. This home is a combination of all the things I adore – dark colours, vintage everything, collections. A genuine cabinet of curiosities, a wunderkammer, a visual delight. This is what a home should be. Filled with found items, something intriguing at every turn, eclecticism to the max. This is the Amsterdam home of Florian Seyd and Ueli Signer of famed flower/design shop aptly named The Wunderkammer. Via Architectural Digest Spain, photos by Marc Van Praag.

Hello my name is Jo and I’m a real estate addict. I stalk listings hoping to find the perfect property I can’t afford anyway. Oh well a girl can dream. There is one problem though. I’m fussy. Not quite right, love the bones but ditch the furniture, bad photos, I need more photos please! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week I’ve found my usual old houses with expansive extensions, an artist’s house, a mid century home that needs a new owner and some TLC, houses for sale and those already sold. Happy almost 150th birthday Canada! Preparations are well underway here in Ottawa for the biggest party of maybe the century and I will be one of the few federal government employees venturing to work today (we’ve been told to work from home given all of the road closures and general chaos). And on that note, I figured today was the perfect day to feature the work of a fellow Canadian. Peter Wilds‘ spaces have been showcased here before several times (like here, here, here, here and here) but we haven’t shared this beauty yet. He calls it “Distilled Luxury”. Elegance and simplicity in white. Simply gorgeous.
