Instagram love – @robinhlucas

Posted on Fri, 26 May 2017 by KiM

I thought I would share a bit of Instagram love today with an account I have been following for a little time now. Robin Lucas @robinhlucas is a brilliant artist, designer and gardener whose traditional English home is absolutely breathtaking. Add in his gorgeous flower arrangements and I can hardly breathe. He’s a must follow. XOXOXO

Serious loft love

Posted on Fri, 26 May 2017 by midcenturyjo

I am still lusting over lofts and even though I have shared some of these photos before I have not shared this loft as a whole yet and absolutely needed to. A weathered wood delight with the most beautiful art gallery wall in the living room, with a sexy staircase, even sexier bathtub and a sweet rooftop patio….I’m seriously dying over this loft. A renovated home in black and white

Posted on Thu, 25 May 2017 by midcenturyjo

This home in Winnipeg, Manitoba was given a main floor renovation and Jaclyn Peters gave the space a modern and minimalist makeover with an earthy vibe that I love. We started with oiled white oak hardwood flooring and a neutral color palette.  The kitchen was completely gutted including the builder basic corner pantry and the breakfast nook was utilized to create space for a new large island topped with Quartz countertops and seating for 5. We added two floating white oak shelves for warmth and texture, then a classic white subway tile backsplash and industrial lighting by Schoolhouse Electric. Two windows flanking the new marble fireplace surround were added to the living room, as well as custom made white oak floating cabinets and a custom media stand.  All new furniture, rugs and accessories create a cozy space to entertain. The Scandinavian inspired powder bath features charcoal slate tile, black millwork, white quartz counters, black pendant light and more art from the homeowner’s collection.

Black, blue and brass

Chic and polished in a colour palette of black, navy blue and brass. This home is absolutely gorgeous, and I think I am now suffering from wallpaper envy. Another stunning project by Venice Beach designer Katherine Carter.

A designer’s home

Posted on Thu, 25 May 2017 by midcenturyjo

I think a designer’s home tells you more about them than any client work or show home can. An intimate look into their design soul you might say. This is the home of Holly Shipman on Choctawhatchee Bay, Florida. A beach look with an elegant ease. White and bright with pieces carefully acquired over time, lots of simple little treasures close at hand. Relaxed, comfortable, stylish and with meaning.
