Modern minimalism in a period building. Midcentury references in a sleek London pad. A sharp contemporay look softened by the thick wool rug and touches of brass. Modern white and clean lined timber accents moves to muted moodiness in the bedroom. Lovely to look at. Even better to stay. Another project by Threshold Interiors I had to share because it’s SO nice to see a loft not decorated with an industrial vibe. Here the beams are exposed and left natural, the brick is painted white and the new kitchen (which unfortunately covers some of those glorious windows) is classic in design. The result is much more homey and charming.

When I think of summer I start dreaming about cottages and cabins and beach houses, and this summer retreat in Sag Harbour, New York is a little gem and a great place to spend warm summer weekends. Designed by Elizabeth Cooper, its nautical vibe with blues, stripes, pops of red and shiplap works so well in this environment. And those bleached wood floors have me swooning. Attached are photos of Luna Express, our 2-year old Miniature Schnauzer. The photos show Luna relaxing on our bed after her regular morning run in the park.

Sweet Pea, a rescue kitty, was discovered high in a tree after someone heard her meow for help. After much coaxing she was “grounded”, and we were the lucky ones who brought her home. Unless kept indoors, she would find her way to higher ground. She has stayed the same size all of her years, never seeming to grow, but in this her twelfth year (give or take), she has developed a soft round Buddha belly and her fur has grown soft and full. She loves walking around in the crook of my husband’s arm & never seems to stop purring. She is the sweetest pea ever. Pictured here on our screened in porch, Sweet Pea spends her days napping & dreaming of chasing squirrels & chipmunks in the garden.

And a couple from my phone. Bernie gazing out the window in the guest bedroom (a.k.a. the Mexico room) and former feral brothers Bernie and Frankie snuggling with Phoebe on a cold day.

A sense of simple luxury, a sense of style, a sense of calm. Sensual and personal. Pared back and perfect. It couldn’t be anything thing else but Belgian. Oostkerke House by interior designer Nathalie Deboel.
