Another British gem of a location home I came across via Shoot Factory. This 4 bedroom home has been restored whilst maintaining many of the original features. Check out come of those floorboards! Also loving the unpainted exposed ceiling beams and plaster walls. And that kitchen is a total dream. So much potential outdoors too. So lovely.

Hotel Tivoli

I need to take a trip to Tivoli, NY and stay in this fabulously decorated hotel. I adore the simplicity, playfulness, bold colours, quirky furniture and that grey trim everywhere!! Hotel Tivoli and its accompanying farm-to-table restaurant The Corner is a century-old building situated in the historic town of Tivoli, New York. Owned by painters Brice and Helen Marden, the property is filled with an eclectic collection of furniture, lighting and art. Reunion Goods & Services worked with the Mardens to infuse the space with lightness punctuated by individualistic moments. The design included a restaurant space with a custom marble bar, two dining rooms and ten unique guest rooms. The identity for the hotel and restaurant was a direct collaboration with Brice whose drawings are paired with reserved text evocative of gallery wall captions. This typography was carried throughout the space, with hand-painted numerals on doors and sparing use of color.

Stalking leftovers

Posted on Thu, 4 May 2017 by midcenturyjo

Yes I admit it. I’m still stalking real estate listings looking for knockout homes. I admit that I’m not in the market for a new house. I’m just a voyeur, I have to know what’s going on behind the curtains, what we in Australia call a “sticky beak”. There is one problem though. I’m fussy. Not quite right, love the bones but ditch the furniture, bad photos, I need more photos please! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week there are new builds and old house renovations, family homes and inner city pads, There is even a tiny cottage where it’s more about the street than the house.
