On Easter Monday my husband and I went to visit the Country Cat Sanctuary to help out and to hopefully foster a cat that was really in need of some TLC. We took Kobe home, fell in love with him, took him to the vets a couple of times and 4 days later found out he had feline leukemia and had him put down. It was an incredibly sad experience as I had high hopes for my little buddy, and I was devastated to hear how terrible his health was unbeknownst to everyone at the sanctuary. I will treasure the few days we had him and I am grateful I was able to show him what a real home was like, if only for those 4 days. R.I.P. Kobe XO

Not so much stalking leftovers as a round up of what I’ve found real estate stalking and what is inspiring me. There’s a lot to love from a Glenn Murcott house to a couple of beach side beauties. Click on the pictures to go to the listings. Via Domain.

I think I have a new item for my bucket list – move to the U.K. and live in one of these absolutely glorious Victorian homes I continue to die over. This one I especially love because would you look at the kitchen!!! It’s soooo pretty – and I am smitten with the brass details including the backsplash (I want to do this badly) and chandelier. I really REALLY love this. Located in Stamford, Lincolnshire and is available as a location home through Shoot Factory.

Dear gawd I adore this kitchen also by Qanuk Interiors Inc.! This is what I envision what my existing tiny kitchen has the potential to be. And you can never go wrong with a french bistro style. Subway tile (I love this longer, thinner version) with dark grout is always a winner. Add in some black steel & glass shelving for a not-so-typical open shelving option and dark lower cabinets and you have a winner! Industrial style lighting installed on the hood fan – why not if lacking space? I always love a good banquette and this one is VERY GOOD. Black leather + gorg brass light fixture = LOVE!!!

I am going to go out on a limb and state that this is one of the best designed townhouses I think I have ever come across. Sarah Keenleyside (who currently has a show on HGTV called Backyard Builds with Brian McCourt, and who coincidentally hails from Ottawa) and Lindsay Konior are principals of Toronto design firm Qanuk Interiors Inc. Every square inch is so well utilized and such attention to detail. From what looks to be a custom built-in sectional, to making use of under-stairs space to house a garden, to the most stunning double height bathroom I have ever seen, and then something as simple as a stackable washer/dryer behind a custom framed out floor-length mirror. Modern but with lots of wood and touches of wood make it really warm and inviting. And is that a sunk-in planter box I spot behind the kitchen sink?! This is all soooooo fabulous.
