Vibrant colours, high energy and a unique style is Right Meets Left Interior Design, Courtney McLeod’s studio in the heart of the Flatiron District in Manhattan. The name Right Meets Left perfectly reflects our approach to the design process – rooted in an ideal balance of innovative design (right brain) and analytical rigor (left brain).  We utilize a kaleidoscopic toolbox of texture, pattern, and color to create a singular and cohesive expression of each client’s unique personality and lifestyle.

Glamour with an edge – a favourite combo of mine as seen in this Beverly Hills home designed by Roxy Sowlaty. She’s a fan of anything gold, lucite or sparkly. Bring on the bling!

I love this really pretty apartment in Madrid, home to Paula Ordovás, fashion journalist, influencer and blogger at Mypeeptoes. A pink sofa, brass accents, ornate mirrors and chandeliers give this space a feminine glam vibe. Some fun vintage finds are throughout – my favourite being the brass palm tree lamp from the 40’s in the photo above. SO FUN! Via Nuevo Estilo, photos by Pablo Sarabia.

Pattern and colours (some subtle, some not at all) with a traditional twist have me wanting to high five Bill Brockschmidt and Courtney Coleman of design firm Brockschmidt and Coleman for creating such a beautiful home. The decoration of a gracious early 20th century brick house in Nashville’s Belle Meade neighborhood renovated by Ridley Wills and The Wills Company.  The goal was to create a warm, inviting home that is as stylish and elegant as it is hospitable and comfortable for the entire family.  While a mix of English, American and French antiques – many sourced from New Orleans – is integrated in a traditionally southern manner, an assertive color palette and the tailored appointments reflect a more urban sensibility.  The dining room walls were inspired by the chrome yellow color in the redecorated Monticello dining room. The scenic powder room wallpaper was salvaged from the stair hall.

Making a statement again with art, dramatic furnishings and in this case within a very large, modern home. Not for the timid. I don’t know many people who would be on board with sliding doors upholstered in bold fabric with huge silver lightning bolt handles. Among other things….. The owners must be art collectors. Or own a gallery. Another project by Carlos López of L.A. Studio.
