What’s happening this week …..

I’m on to my next project even though my others are in various stages of completion (or should that be lack of completion?). I call them UFOs or unfinished objects. I’ve narrowed down the field on fabric for my Grant Featherston Numero chairs. I have 2 singles and an end chair as shown above. I’m leaning heavily towards the houndstooth but the wide pinstripe is coming second. The suite will go in my office and must withstand our dog Mickey and his never ending search for a comfortable seat so much as I would love this by Diamond Baratta at Lee Jofa or a Paul Smith Bespoke Stripe wool, I don’t think so. Now I just have to make up my mind so the upholsterer can get to work.

Jo, I can’t believe you are thinking of houndstooth!! I have the Diamond & Baratta pink and white large houndstooth sample at home this weekend – I am contemplating recovering a sofa in it!! Scary and expensive I know but it’s my 30th soon so I’m hoping to have this done as my birthday present – I’m desperately sucking up to my husband!!! Love the black and white houndstooth you are thinking about!

Ha! UFOs.

I’m loving the houndstooth…

Anna and Jo, you guys have succeeded in making me now crave some houndstooth. Anna – I’ve got my fingers crossed that you get your sofa recovered (the fabric you posted is AMAZING). And Jo, Mickey is a seeing-eye dog – surely he can be taught to NOT jump on your houndstooth chairs? (And while you’re at it you can teach him to get off your bed!!)LOL…I know, he’s so damn cute how could you say no.

I have a vintage 2-seater love seat at home covered in red, brown, cream and black houndstooth, and to be honest, I’d recover it if I could. Out of your choices above, I quite like the wide stripes. Too bad no footrest ’cause you could do it in the narrow stripes.

Le sigh…I’ll recover mine eventually – UFOs for sure!

orangred says:

the curves would make the stripes interesting of course, but shed hounds hair seems to blend well on houndstooth, which i think is hard to go wrong with…
(go for it!!)
