Two facades two very different houses. Both with a neutral colour story, both with the warmth of timber balanced by stone. I’ve been stalking again but I can’t make up my mind which one I like more. I love the period features of the second home, the warren of rooms but I love the retro modern vibe of the first. Exposed trusses, rich plank walls, clean modern lines. Dilemma isn’t it! Fortunately I can afford neither. Phew! Links here and here while they last.

usually not a fan of exposed beams, but like the way it looks in these photos.
so jealous of the aussie inside/outside room situation.

I prefer the first one. I would have to re-arrange the furniture though. That fire looks kinda lonesome and I fear that the barcelona daybed might melt. LOL.

Jo, your real estate stalking is beginning to make me think that all Australians decorate beautifully.

Wow, and usually it’s so easy to choose! I think these two are so evenly matched that it would be the surrounding neighborhood that would tip the balance.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion! Because that would never happen. The 2nd choice is a little too sahib for me — the more modern vibe, and the wider options for furniture choice and placement, give the open-beam house an edge.
