Jonas Gustavsson

First photographer for 2011. Jonas Gustavsson. Swedish born and New York based and fabulous. What do you think of Anna Sui’s wardrobe (3-7)? If I remember correctly she bought a second apartment in her building and converted it into her closet. The ultimate walk in robe and captured in all its OTTness (not a word I know!) perfectly by Gustavsson. I love the composition and angles of the photos. Somehow the rooms feel so full, bursting with inspiration. There is an intimacy. Like snooping while the owner is out. The holiday season may be finished but I still can’t get enough of Scandinavian cosy winter homes.

Johan says:

Lovely post. Inspirational photos. Love the room with the red carpet…like a SPA:)

Jane says:

Where on earth did the ligh-up calendar come from? It's fantastic! Can anyone help?

Elaine says:

Love your comment about Anna Sui"s closet. Great sense of humour!

RLG says:

love the first two images.
That bath is perfect. Except for the scale. Why would I want to ruin a perfectly good day?

Matthew says:

Regarding the light-up calender, it's probably a clock that shows hours/minutes/seconds. Search Google Images for "Nixie Tube Clock". They are made from vacuum-tubes and are fairly popular to the DIY electronics hobbyist. Pre-built units are pricey though.

Bucky says:

The lighted clock is undoubtedly an offering from BDDW in NYC. Their exquisite furniture is deservedly finding its way into more and more homes, their shop a must-see if you're visiting NYC shopping for inspiration.

Juliet says:

I love all the rock and roll portraits in Ann Sui's living room- nice contrast to the rest of the room!
