Hardwood floors to die for

Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2011 by KiM

I am STILL on the hunt for hardwood for my house additions/renovations (see this post) and OMG it’s tough when you’re as picky as I am. I was just going through some of my photo stash and came across these photos…dear gawd if this flooring could be mine….

I can't believe how disruptive those flowers feel. ;'-/

I am getting my home renovated & here's the tile I am using. I think you'll love it. For practical purposes it's a vinyl laminate tile and not real hardwood, but its got a wonderful figure.

Fantastic floors. We're planning on re-doing our floors in hard wood, starting in our living room, extending down the hall to a bedroom and den. Its a big job and I'm bookmarking this post for reference. Thanks!

They are gorgeous! We have um-ed and ah-ed over the floors for our extensions too. I think we maybe, possibly, might have decided on Blackbutt. Maybe…

Totally agree with you! They add so much character to a home!

Never understood why people like carpet and hardwood is just so fantastic. Easy to clean, cool on your feet and great the slide across.

Geezi–those tiles are interesting–are you installing in a basement? Can you give me the maufacturer name and pattern? Thx

A couple years ago the husband and I bought mixed hardwoods reclaimed from old barns, churches, stores, etc. There's a woman here in ATL who sells them, tongued and grooved. We both took a week off from work and installed a beautiful mixed tapestry of widths (1 and 1/4 inch-6 inches) of dark and light woods, pine, oak, mahogany. It's a pleasure to wake up to every day.

Hi maz, the tile would eventually be laid out all over the house. It's by a local mumbai company around here called Indigo. I don't think it's available internationally.. Though you ll find similar samples, probably better ones where you are. 🙂
