I just had to share another amazing renovation by Bates Masi Architects. This ’60s house in Amagansett, NY is the weekend retreat of an interior designer and a DJ. Patina and history retained, a couple’s style allowed to shine through. Take a look up at the ceilings. Between the existing ceiling joists. Woven natural rope. Acoustic baffling, important to the DJ owner but also a wonderfulyl textural and a connection to vertical design elements and fittings. Such a cool weekender. I’d never want to leave to return to the city. Interiors by Rawlins Calderone Design.
The expansive windows bringing in serene views, the clerestory windows supplementing natural light, the natural materials and clean lines, and the simplicity of furnishings—there is so much to appreciate about this beautiful home. Thanks for sharing. ~Sparky
I love it every time you share a discovery that showcases the blend of different, sometimes opposing styles. Point in case. Lovely.
I LOVE THIS FIRMS WORK. ONE OF THE DESIGNERS SPOKE AT MY SCHOOL.
The lighting in the living room was done by Jon Sarriugarte of Form & Reform out of Oakland CA. You can see this and more lighting designs at http://www.electricaluse.com

Really fantastic and gorgeous – the spare, beautiful art is so nicely displayed, not overdone.
