Camilla Tange Paylecke

Posted on Mon, 2 Dec 2013 by KiM

I am always intrigued to see how interior designers and stylists live. I came across the blog of Danish interior stylist Camilla Tange Paylecke and spent quite some time devouring it, particularly the photos of her home (or homes, I went pretty far back through her blog). So eclectic and full of vintage goodies, which lends a homey feel. And she has the most wonderful kitchen. I’m taking notes.

Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 2 Dec 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is too dark or unfocused then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

I fell in love with this vintage orange velvet chair by Jens Risom when I found it on ebay some years ago. I also love this shiba inu, Griffin, a rescue who shares my design taste. On a snowy day like today he alternates between dozing there by the fire and watching for squirrels out the window.

This is 16-week old Teun, who we adopted from our local shelter when he was 10 weeks old. He loves relaxing on our sheepskin-adorned Vitra RAR en hanging out with his ‘big brother’ 🙂

Landing

Love the idea of using the space on a landing as something more than a change of direction. B&B designed by Belgian architects Not Before Ten.

Wake me up

Posted on Mon, 2 Dec 2013 by midcenturyjo

Wake me up when Monday is over. No go away. I’m serious. I want to stay under the covers and slip back into my dream. The one where I live in a small but perfectly formed beach house in Portugal. Simple and stylish, layers of texture and colours of the sea. A wonderful dream where there are never any Mondays, never any Mondayitis. A dream designed by Vera Iachia of course.

Oneflare.com has just launched an Australian-first design inspiration tool called Oneflare Scrapbooks, to help Aussies design and build their perfect home. It’s an exciting new tool that helps people find and collect inspiring photos of their favourite home design, ideas and improvements.
