House of Honey update

Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015 by KiM

Tamara-Kaye Honey of House of Honey has not been featured here in quite a while so I thought it was about time for an update. She continues to rock her hallmark New Vintage style, with an eclectic blend of pattern, colour and texture and furniture from different eras, creating spaces that are bold and witty. That sofa above is EVERYTHING.

The last hoorah

Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015 by midcenturyjo

It’s the last hoorah of summer. The warm sun is hanging on stubbornly but the days are getting shorter and the cool air nips at night. And as a perfect summer slips away I find myself looking for a talisman to hold on to, a memory of these halcyon days to help me through the winter. I think these images of a Coogee, Sydney garden by landscape designer William Dangar might just pull me through.

Exquisite escape

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a four day Easter break than exploring the über fabulous city of Sydney especially if the base for my foray was this apartment at XXV Challis. From the exquisite interiors by Pamela Makin to its perfect position in Potts Point I’d be tempted not to stray too far. Actually I think I’d never want to leave. From the amazing stable of prestige properties at Contemporary Hotels.

A home with history

This Amsterdam home blows my mind. If I walked in someone would need to hold me up because I would probably drop to the floor. Seriously though, the architecture, the bold colours, the herringbone hardwood floor, the checkerboard marble tile, those freaking windows (!!!)…then throw in some cool mid-century furniture and I totally become weak in the knees. A villa with a tropical vibe

Unlike Jo I couldn’t live further from the tropics, but what better way to bring the tropics indoors than some green walls and huge plants. This home definitively evokes a tropical vibe within a modern shell. I have plant and dining table envy. Interior design by Roelfien Vos
