Francesca Neri

Switzerland based interior designer Francesca Neri takes beautiful spaces and elevates them to new heights with European flair. Eclectic, chic and always with a wow factor, her spaces blow me away. Particularly the dramatic bathrooms. HOT!

Monochromatic and moody this art deco apartment in Sydney’s Potts Point is raw yet polished with its stripped back floors and exposed brick in counterpoint to ornate plaster ceilings and slick modern kitchen. An oasis in the bustling inner-city by design studio Lawless & Meyerson.

Out the back

It’s what Australian architects seem to do so well. The extension, the addition to an old house that opens the living areas up and out. House facades and streetscapes are maintained while out the back clever two storey additions fulfil family needs for modern living. Love the monochromatic palette of this home warmed by the rich wood accents. Contemporary, clean lined, sleek and stylish (although I’m a little worried that, at least here in Australia, the Flos Lighting Aim Lamps are in danger of going the way of Tom Dixon’s Beat Lights and become ubiquitous). Andrew Howard, again

I featured Florida interior designer Andrew Howard last year here and here, showcasing his talent for creating both bright and bold as well as sophisticated and neutral spaces. Here is a little bit more of both. That space above has got me all hot and bothered. YUM!

Monday’s pets on furniture

If you would like to participate in the Monday’s pets on furniture series please send photos, your name, location and a brief description to kim[@]desiretoinspire[.]net. Thanks!

I’m starting today’s post with an entry from one of my sisters. Carl is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen and he is super sweet and loveable. And super photogenic. Here are a couple photos of him hanging out in Jen’s living room.

please find attached photo of our friend’s Ivana dog – elegant Fred posing on their renovated vintage armchair.
– Maria (Prague)

Here is my dog Freddie, a wire fox terrier rescue, on vacation in Key West, Florida, last fall. He tossed the pillow off the chair (you can see it on the floor) and then made himself quite comfortable.
– Heather (Port Saint Lucie, Florida)

A big thanks to Wanda for sending me this photo the other day of the darling Desi, who I rescued a few years ago when my next door neighbour was dying of cancer and his family took all his cats to the Humane Society (where I imagine they met their fate) and Wanda then adopted from me.

My herd absolutely adores my new Furniture Maison sectional sofa.
