A dark apartment

Posted on Mon, 6 Jun 2016 by KiM

Black kitchen cabinets, black dining chairs, black backsplash, black/blue bedroom walls and cupboard, black tile bathroom….this Potts Point, Sydney apartment designed by architect and interior designer Tom Ferguson (TFAD) is dark and fabulous and not at all dreary. This moody space is subtly glamorous and there is not a white wall in sight! And I am in love with the bathroom, and that Cole & Son Nuvole Fornasetti mural.

Not quite white

Still on my mission to show that not every Swedish styled real estate listing is white on white Scandinavian boho. How about a touch of Granny chic? Not crocheted rugs and silk boho lampshades Granny chic. More traditional wallpaper, shaker style green kitchen and of course those fabulous kakelugnar. Yes there are still bare floors, rustic bleached furniture, mid century classics, an Ay Illuminate clone and a bedroom that doesn’t conform to my anti-white scandi code but it’s not cookie cutter. Unfortunately for us this lovely Stockholm 2 bed apartment is sold. Link here while it lasts.

Monday=coffee

Yes it’s true. The only way I can kickstart the working week is with a very (very) large cup of coffee. I find it works even better if there is a cool, slightly industrial looking coffee house/cafe involved. I’m such a tragic that I’m known to get to a cafe very early then take the time to sit and drink it all in for the hour before work. Now if I lived in Melbourne, in the suburb of Prahran, I think I would just have perch myself on a stool in Tall Timber with its design by architectural and interior design studio Therefore, coffee on one side real newspaper on the other.

The perfect apartment in Barcelona

Yes, that’s right. I am claiming this to be the PERFECT apartment. It is so perfect that I was thinking about listing off all of the elements that make it perfect and realized that the list would be a mile long. So all I will say is I am blown away, and YASSSSSS!!!!! Via Nuevo Estilo. Interior design: Marta Castellano. Architect: Serrat-Tort

Working on a Saturday

Posted on Sat, 4 Jun 2016 by midcenturyjo

It’s like I say week after week. If you have to drag your sorry self into work on a Saturday then it certainly helps if it’s somewhere stylish. No problems if I worked in Melbourne-based Breathe Architecture‘s own offices. Just park my bicycle and head on up.
