This kitchen may be familiar to many of you if you follow Beth Kirby’s blog Local Milk or Instagram. I had to feature it here because this may be my favourite kitchen. EVER. Designed by the incredibly talented Jersey Ice Cream Co.. We managed to keep the existing cabinet frames by altering them, making new doors, and giving everything a fresh coat of paint. We popped in a “new” old window and built a custom range hood, plus floating shelves from reclaimed late-19th-century factory beams, and an island and additional table from old barn siding. Beth went to Atlanta to pick out a slab of marble for the counters and had a beautiful Lacanche range delivered. Then we finished up with plastered walls (half polished, half hand combed), antique brass drawer pulls from Restore in Philadelphia, and a beautiful old French faucet Tara found on eBay.

What happens when 2 creative travellers get their hands on a huge yellow school bus? 

They turn it into the coolest home on 4 wheels! Felix Starck, Selima Taibi and their dog Rudi (a rather large Bernese Mountain dog) are travelling in this converted bus from Alaska to Argentina – it’s Expedition Happiness. The conversion was alot of work and there is now an incredible amount of storage without taking up too much valuable space. The sofa is designed with 2 large drawers for camera gear and folds out into a double bed. The queen sized bed in the bedroom area has one half that folds up so they can store bulky items like an outdoor table, guitar, and tools. The other half has 4 big drawers for clothes. Towels, toilet paper etc. is housed in the big closet and the cubbies behind the bed function as a nightstand alternative. There is even a 32″ TV in there. On top of being totally functional with a complete kitchen and shower stall, it’s beautifully designed and decorated in rustic wood and white. Simple and bright and all you really need. It is totally gorgeous and now I want my own school bus to convert!! You can follow them on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or their blog. I am soooo jealous. 

The bold and the beautiful. That’s what I should have called this post. Melbourne-based interior designer Camilla Molders creates clean-lined, contemporary rooms with something extra. Bold colour, bespoke fixtures and furniture, beautiful textiles and her signature custom rugs. “Every project I work on is different as every client is different and being their home, it should be a space that truly suits them and their lifestyles! My job is to hold their hand, push their boundaries, but still create a space that is inspiring.” And they are Camilla… very inspiring.

What do you do when you have a ton of books and no bookshelves? STACK ‘EM UP! Great idea and looks pretty fab, but only if you don’t plan on reading any side from the top few. 🙂 Via a real estate listing in Sweden on Lagerlings. HELLOOOOOOOO dream home! I have said it before and I will never stop saying it – there is nothing I love more than a period home filled with mid-century and random vintage furnishings and lighting. Five Doors Down is a location home in the UK (of course, because they have the most incredible  homes) that is funky and just my style.
