Boathouse

Posted on Mon, 20 Mar 2017 by midcenturyjo

Never mind the house. (It’s beautiful by the way.) I would be happy with “just” the boathouse. Perfection perched on the edge of the Sydney Harbour by interior designer Sarah Davidson.

Clean contemporary lines with an emphasis on texture and finishes. Timber plays a predominant part in the scheme punctuated with black accents. Melbourne-based interior design firm Studio Tate have renovated this Prahran home creating a sleek, chic but ultimately family friendly home.

A small, neutral apartment in Sweden

I have fallen for this small, 71 m2 apartment in the Stockholm ‘hood of Östermalm. It’s all dolled up in my favourite colour palette of shades of grey and white with accents of black and pale pink. The decor has been kept un-fussy and makes the space feel larger. The adorable exterior is a bonus. Available for sale through Lagerlings

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week after week. If you have to drag yourself into work on the weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. White and wood with pops of greenery and mint. The studio offices of interior designer Marta Castellano are so fresh and fun.

Hex Cottage at Wilderness Reserve

Posted on Fri, 17 Mar 2017 by KiM

I could not resist sharing just one more property available at Wilderness Reserve….because look how cute this cottage is!!! What a perfect setting for a little romantic honeymoon getaway. A dreamy thatched former forester’s cottage for two, electricity-free, candlelit and set in woods overlooking its own meadow. In Hex Cottage, built in the Regency ‘cottage orné’ (or decorated cottage) style, an Esse wood-burning range in the kitchen provides all the hot water and heating, though there are open fires in the sitting room and bedroom. In the kitchen, think original bread ovens, brick floors and butler sinks. Swing open the door to discover your own herb garden, store for the all-important logs and wilderness beyond. In the bedroom, candles and a fairy-tale canopy above the king-size Hypnos bed set the scene.
