The Bower Byron Bay

Hallelujah the week is almost over! Time to turn our thoughts to weekend getaways. One of my favourite spots to runaway to for a couple of days is Byron Bay on the New South Wales North Coast just a few hours drive from me. Cool, stylish and laid-back this beach resort town with an eco conscious heart is home to a new chic boutique hotel, The Bower Byron Bay. Comprising 14 suites, a barn, a cottage and a family house it’s the perfect place to stay in casual luxury. Love the minimalist vibe with its monochrome palette and lush greenery and it’s just minutes from the beach and Byron’s fabulous cafes and shopping.

Rustic elegance by Jaimee Rose

A dose of southern charm in this somewhat rustic but very much sophisticated and elegant home designed by Arizona-based interior designer Jaimee Rose. I am dying over those striped painted floors above. If you have a pantry, do something bold such as wallpaper like Jaimee did here. Have fun where you’d least expect it. Now back to those floors…this could be interesting in my guest bedroom…

Stalking SJB

I’m in Sydney, right on the harbour, stalking another apartment by SJB on the market with a price guide of $5 million. As they say “location, location, location” and I’ll add “stylish, stylish, stylish.” Light filled with pastel hues, lime-washed timber floor, whimsical, subtle and serene, a sugar coated almond. (You may remember the apartment from this post.) I wonder if the Navy vessel is included in the price? Guess not. Link here while it lasts.

Oh Mama!

An apartment perched on the rooftop of an old factory in Sydney’s inner-city suburb of Redfern, a modern oasis a hand’s stretch away from the CBD. While the apartment is stunning and so are the views, it’s the outdoor spaces that are the true luxury. As the designers SJB describe it it’s “a garden that you happened to live in, rather than an apartment surrounded by greenery.” And why did I call this post “Oh Mama”? Yes I love the apartment and its garden but my heart belongs to the Big Mama chair.
