Working on a Saturday

Posted on Sat, 31 Aug 2019 by midcenturyjo

It’s like I say time and time again. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it is somewhere super stylish or in this case stylishly minimalist. The Agency by Mathieson Architects.

Move towards the light

It’s a little slice of heaven. A NYC loft with fabulous bones and an interior by design firm Sissy + Marley. Light floods in through arched windows while oak floors and exposed beams enhance the industrial feel. One moment it’s dramatic, the next serene but always a chic, always inspiring, family home. If luxury loft living in the Big Apple has been a dream of yours I suggest you move towards the light.

A colourful East London warehouse conversion

I love seeing how designers live. Case in point, the converted East London warehouse of Rachel Chudley. Her creativity and love of textures, colours and patterns in completely random pairings makes her home an absolutely feast for the eyes. (Photos: Paul Massey)

Warm wood and neutrals in a Beijing townhouse

Posted on Thu, 29 Aug 2019 by KiM

A&B Curated is the design studio of Antiques & Boutiques, the bespoke travel and lifestyle company created by Lisa Richardson and Niki Robinson – two life loving fashion designers who relocated to Barcelona from London and Milan in 2007. This 4 story townhouse in Beijing is a beautiful mix of modern and vintage which is their signature combination. The first stage of this project was to open up the spaces in order to make the most out of the available light. By enclosing some of the garden areas we were able to bring the outdoors inside. Finally, we designed a harmonious interior by emphasizing the clean lines and using a subtle yet beautiful colour palette. To bring warmth and personality to the apartment we sourced a combination of antique and contemporary pieces throughout Europe as well commissioning custom-made pieces to create a welcoming, contemporary & comfortable atmosphere.
