As of this past Friday, we Ontarians are able to once again eat inside a restaurant, bar etc, go to a gym and pretty much anywhere we used to pre-pandemic (but of course, wearing masks where possible indoors, and often is the law). Several of my favourite shops and restaurants choose to be cautious and are open by appointment only or continue to only offer takeout or patio only. If enjoying some time in a restaurant, bar or café were as simple as it was a few months ago, any of these beautiful spaces designed by Paris-based firm Laplace would be ideal.
It’s like I say time and time again. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. The offices of Elizabeth Krueger Design.
A fortress like exterior gives no hint of the playfulness inside. All stoic on the outside and Palm Springs meets Italian courtyard meets magical birch forest out the back. This North Bondi garden by 360 Degrees has my mind spinning round with inspiration.
The vaulted ceiling of the patio area in this Castlecrag house by Sydney-based Holly Harbison Design frames the view beyond. Neo classical elements meet ancient landscape. Sophisticated and elegant, monumental but light as the breezes that are captured.
These homeowners were brave enough to request very bold colour and wallpaper from their interior designer, Cameron Ruppert and WOW did she deliver! This home has such a wonderful energy and spirit, and though it’s quite polished in its finishes it is still quite charming and approachable. That dining room though – if anyone ever doubted using high gloss paint….
