I think if you live up in the clouds your home should be as striking as your surroundings. PROjECT did just that here in this Chicago condo. Our clients built a business empire and craved a sophisticated retreat to play, meditate, entertain, relax, and let it all melt away. A chic exaltation of refined and rebellious: Oaxacan pottery, paintings by Picasso + Warhol, lighting fashioned from bike chains, a lounge that doubles as a playground; a yoga studio with a floating lucite daybed cloistered by walnut slab doors; there’s winding corridors with pots of decorative gold at the end of every rainbow. It’s 4,000 square feet of architectural prowess, like Dr. X with design chops.
Cabin fever yet? Climbing the walls? Just want it to be back like it was before the corona virus? You’re not alone. I think the entire planet wants to turn back the clock to the good ol’ days. Time for a daydream getaway, to an airbnb in the middle of cow paddocks, to a little bit of rustic luxury in the Victorian countryside. It may only sleep up to 10 but we’ll take turns. We’ve learned how. Welcome to today’s fantasy The Wensley.
From the dramatic entrance to the sophisticated kitchen to the spa-like bathroom, from the luxury finishes to bespoke joinery, from the carefully restored old to the well considered Sydney-based interior designer Jillian Dinkel has created something very special indeed. This 1904 Victorian boldly broaches the 21th century, a dramatic entrance indeed.

I have been a huge fan of designers Pierre Emmanuel Martin and Stéphane Garotin of Maison Hand for many years. Everything they touch is magic. Whether light or dark or a mix of both, their projects are always fabulous. Their latest 75 m2 apartment in Lyon, France that they renovated is rough around the edges with lots of black and dark earthy tones and might be my favourite of all. I am intrigued by the wacky layout of the kitchen.
