“Complete refurbishment of a generously proportioned Victorian family home in East London. Set over 5 floors, the mix of architectural styles is reflected in the interiors with a light, rustic contemporary approach in the lower ground floor and contrasting rich dark Victorian splendour on the upper floors.”

Old and new, Victorian and contemporary, light and dark. It’s all moody Victorian glam in the older part of the house breaking out into a modern, earthy almost rustic extension. The best of both worlds. Hackney, London residence by Frank & Faber.

An organic modern home

This home designed by a. Naber Design is a little bit modern, a tad Scandinavian, has some organic elements and is as bright as can be. It’s so cohesive and very much current and fresh for today’s lifestyle. 2 thumbs up on this project. Photography: Charlotte Lea

A purple garden in Ravenscourt Park, London

Posted on Mon, 4 Apr 2022 by KiM

This garden in Ravenscourt Park was neglected and unloved when its owners moved in, consisting of a shabby lawn and a couple of scruffy shrubs but two promising trees – a Magnolia and an Apple tree. The garden has evolved over the years with structural Buxus pyramids later being replaced with Taxus baccata. The introduction of a Wildflower meadow with a winding path was later reconfigured bringing an abundance of wildlife.

The garden of landscape designer Butter Wakefield is simple yet an absolute delight and so pleasing to the eye. Inspiration folder material for sure. (Photography: Clive Nichols / Ellie Walpole / Simon Brown)

Meikle Wartle Manor

Meikle Wartle Manor is a 12th century castle located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is stunning inside and out, with some questionable decor but not bad all around. It features 8 bedrooms (4 with ensuites), a walled garden and is available as a holiday let here. I’d love to get my hands on this one to decorate to my heart’s content. 🙂

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. It also helps if it’s at the end of the garden. Hunt Studio by, of course, Hunt Architecture.
