Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Wareco by Smith Hanes.

Victorian Elegance Renewed

Nestled in North Fitzroy, the owners of this Victorian house needed help to revitalize their tired extension. Within the existing L-shaped structure from the mid-2000s, the layout was reimagined to create a bespoke kitchen with seamless access to the garden and deck. A striking marble island now anchors the open living area. A simple, elegant palette with warm white cabinetry and oak accents unifies the space. Custom glass doors divide and frame new perspectives, while carefully selected lighting elevates the interior, fusing classic and contemporary elements into a light-filled home. City oasis

As the weekend quickly approaches my mind turns to the gardening chores I must do. I’d never think anything was a chore if I owned this lush Sydney garden Greenfriends Gardens. An oasis in the city and perfect for the approaching summer. I need to climb up my palms to hang baskets of Rhipsalis and start planning a circular pond. More jobs for the weekend.

This modest mid-1800s Victorian terrace home is located in Tottenham, London and architect and designer Hollie Bowden gave it an earthy, calming transformation. The modern mixed with rustic elements is sooooo beautiful and inviting and speaks to me on so many levels. Photos: Oskar Proctor

A walled garden in Brixton

Landscape architect and garden designer Ula Maria created such a lush, layered garden for this Brixton home with random arrangements of bricks and stones and dense plantings overflowing along pathways and groundcover seeping through cracks and crevices. Soooo much inspiration here.
