My other dream home

Posted on Thu, 27 Oct 2011 by KiM

I’ve got another property for you from Domus Nova. And this one is a dream! What is not to love about this place? The only thing I can really comment on negatively are those deflated looking sofas, which looks too much like a separated sectional (pet peeve!!). This place rocks. I love the simple kitchen, the concrete floors, the funky lighting, the artwork (I spot THE perfect vintage portrait), the yard, and OMG THAT HALLWAY ‘O BOOKS!!!

London real estate stalking #2

As promised, here is another Domus Nova property. This time it’s a rental, which is probably good news as I’m not sure how many buyers would be tickled pink to discover red carpeting and a bright orange bathroom. I do love how neutral the spaces are with colour brought in through furnishings. Most people do it the other way around. I think this takes far more bravery. Check out that sofa for example. Surely more of an investment than a can of paint.

The kind folks over at Domus Nova (estate agency extraordinaire) must have sensed how swamped I am these days so they ever so graciously sent over some photos of some of their latest homes for sale. This first one if fantastic for the most part – but I am not loving the sterile kitchen and what’s the purpose of 2 dining tables? The distortion thanks to the camera lenses used would certainly have me calling us Domus and asking for an appointment to view in person. I do however adore the bathroom, staircase, wood stove setup and furnishings (helloooooo TWO Papa Bear chairs!!). I’ll be posting another home shortly so stay tuned!

Pure Green Magazine in print!!

I have blogged about Pure Green Magazine before (here and here), and as one of my favourite online magazines (Canadian to boot!) I am so stoked that it is transitioning to print and subscriptions are now available! GET YOUR SUBSCRIPTION NOW! And I must mention that it is much more than your ordinary magazine. It is more like a book, meant to be displayed, collected and treasured and as such is made of high quality finishes (which you can read more about on their site). I know it’s not easy for the creators of this magazine as they are an independent publisher so I’m off to order my own subscription because it would be really great to see this mag become as successful as I know it can be. Here’s a little peek:

Michael Wee encore

Posted on Tue, 25 Oct 2011 by KiM

Jo expressed her endearment for the photography of fellow Australian Michael Wee a couple of times last year (here and here) and because he is simply THAT GOOD, I thought I would feature more of his work. I just can’t get enough. Awesome spaces. Awesome captures. (P.S. I am oddly enamoured by the slight locker room vibe of the bathroom in the second last photo).
