Spaces by Shannon Tate

I stumbled upon the portfolio of Shannon Tate recently and was immediately drawn in by her style. Casual, comfortable, earthy and a bit boho with a zen-like vibe. Nothing but stylish chillin’ happening in these spaces! Stay tuned for some of her fabulous kitchens later. (Photos: Claire Esparros)

A former brewery cooperage in Central London

Posted on Mon, 7 May 2018 by KiM

We’re huge fans of conversions here at DTI and this one is….majestic being the first word that comes to mind. That staircase!!!  Believed to have built in the early 1900s, this former brewery cooperage on a tight site in Central London had already been in residential use since the 1990s. By stripping back to the buildings fabric and preserving its original features it was possible to bring a new understanding to its potential. The existing basement was extended laterally to create a large open-plan family living area over which rises a triple height atrium – a space around which much of the accommodation is structured and through which passes a dramatic feature staircase. The vertical extension rises from the top of the building and is occupied by bedrooms and a generous roof terrace with far-reaching roof-top views. To distinguish this extension from the original brick structure a system of patinated bronze cladding panels and glass has been used. By Chris Dyson Architects. (Photos: Peter Landers)

Hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter weekend? Been so miserable weather wise today, the most I could muster was a swim at the gym and I have been beavering away updating my website (not live with it yet but watch this space)….. Poor Teddy spent most of the day looking out of the window on my bed pictured here, wishing the rain would stop so he could have a longer walk, but it’s been non stop. Got some plans for this room….which I’ll be revealing soon… . . . #bedroomdecor #bedroominspo #bedroomideas #deliciousdarkdecor #wallartdecor #cavapoopuppy #gallerywall #walltowallstyle #cavapoosofinstagram #festoons #sassyhomestyle #aadogs #dtipetsonfurniture #howivintage #myvintageabode #abigailahern #darkinteriors #myhousethismonth #styleithappy #ekbbhome #pinkinteriors #atmine #houzz #cosyhome #interiorboom #myfabhome #suburbansalon #inmydomaine #apartmenttherapy #sodomino

I love rugs! I want rugs everywhere. Unfortunately I’m also very allergic, so every once in a while I remove them all. And then I miss them and put them back in a different place. I really like rugs that I can wash though. Usually those are cotton, but these are wool. They fit in the washer but are too small for the lounge so I just layered them instagram style 😄. I’m so avant-garde 😂. Anyway these are a lovely PATTERN AND TEXTURE for day 13 of #myhousethismonth. Add a kitty and it’s a wrap 😄. #catsofinstagram #dtipetsonfurniture #hometohave #sassyhomestyle #thriftlove #recyclerestyle #walltowallstyle #howyouhome #interiorboom #howyouthrift #intramuralinteriors #howtheyhome #mystylishrug #toptotoedecor #rockinteriors #myhomevibe #vtwonenbijmijthuis #dailydecordetail #howivintage #luxuryinteriorsonabudget #styleithappy #myhomesteal #myvintageabode #myinteriorstyletoday #vintagewonen #rockininteriors

A bright and colourful home

Posted on Sun, 6 May 2018 by KiM

I’m location home-ing again this Sunday with this ray of sunshine from Shoot Factory. A beautiful and bright five bedroom detached family home with 3,000 sq ft over three floors. It is simply decorated yet so pretty with walls and moldings painted white and additions of colour through furniture, art and textiles.

A 1910 beach house in California

Here is another example of why I am such a fan of Reath Design‘s style. Frances Merrill took another Craftsman (this time a 1910 beach house) and brought home the funk! More fun wallpaper, tile, patterned fabric and vintage finds make this home soooo much fun and a total eye candy. If you ever thought about painting your old kitchen cabinets yellow, this should sell you on the idea.
