easter reading guide – part one

Posted on Sat, 7 Apr 2012 by midcenturyjo

Welcome! Welcome! welcome! New blogs to you, newblogs to me. Let’s explore. Let’s be inspired. Let’s share the love. Crack open the first chocolate bunny of the season and start reading. (If you are like me that will be your second chocolate bunny… or third.)

Love this little apartment in an art deco complex in Potts Point, Sydney. Stylish black and white with wonderful wooden floors slap bang in the middle of the Macleay St action. Lunch at Fratelli Paradiso anyone? Yum! As much as I love those floors I wonder if a graphic rug wouldn’t help? Maybe the Bazaar rug from Freedom. (Smooth segue!) Perhaps in the bedroom if you can’t face covering those boards in the living area. Link for the apartment sale here and don’t forget our Freedom rug giveaway finishes last thing Saturday. You can enter here.

P.S. I won’t be blogging tomorrow. I have a hot date with my Faded Empire website. A solid day of ironing out the bugs and fine tuning for the launch next week. But I’ll be back Saturday with 3 days of Easter reading guides. Yay! Lots of new blogs to discover!)

Stalking Sydney’s northern beaches

Posted on Thu, 5 Apr 2012 by midcenturyjo

Help I’m stuck at the beach! Palm Beach, Sydney that is. It seems like it lately with beach side properties around the world.  I couldn’t think of a better place to real estate stalk though. Today I have found another beach shack with a big price tag. (POA… always a good indicator of an “interesting” price.) But oh what a cutie! Unassuming outside and hipster cool inside. So cool in fact that it graced the pages of Inside Out magazine. The owners and agent are proud of the fact too. They included shots of the layout. Link here while it lasts. If I had the money I’d be moving in for Easter.

Enrique Menossi part 2

Posted on Wed, 4 Apr 2012 by midcenturyjo

Having overdosed on the rustic beauty of Spanish homes captured through the lens of Enrique Menossi in the previous post, it’s time to move to something a little darker, richer, more sophisticated. Or how about a vibrant taste of urban colour?. Just as inspiring, just as beautiful. The man is a master of his craft.

P.S. And just in case it is all too darkly sophisticated for you I have lightened it with one more all white wonder.

Love that rug … still!

Just a quick reminder about our Freedom Furniture competition. Don’t forget, if you are an Aussie or Kiwi reader, to enter as many times as you want before the end of Saturday April 7. Go here and tell me why should you win the Freedom Bazaar floor rug. In 25 words or less 🙂 The entries (and begging) has been amazing so far!
