Stalking on a Saturday

Stalking in Zetland in Sydney, a suburb more known for its apartment blocks than its family homes. A double fronted terrace with a sunny courtyard, a sparkling white kitchen and the cutest little girl’s bed tucked up under the eaves. All on only a 240sqm block. Link here while it lasts.

Manolo Yllera

Whenever I need inspiration I find myself flicking through our archives and flitting from website to website to remind myself just how amazing are the people and places we feature on Desire to Inspire. Today’s revisit is to Spanish photographer Manolo Yllera. Not just for his take on the stunning interiors he shoots but for his own amazing home and his studios. (You can see more on his website). So as the weekend closes in and I’m contemplating a little rearranging I’m drawn to these images, each a little different, each amazingly beautiful but what I find so inspiring is Manolo’s understanding of positive and negative space. Sometimes it isn’t what is there but what isn’t. Happy weekend everyone!

Laura Moss

Photographer Laura Moss has captured my imagination. Her shots are full of beautiful light, unusual angles, clever composition and a little bit of honesty in a photoshopped world. Do I spy a lamp cord front and centre for all to see? So that’s how they turn it on 😉

Stalking for hours

Hooray! Squarespace is working again. For a few hours there I watched a circle go round and round and round while the blog didn’t load. Not anymore. It’s time to stalk a modern home in Kew, Melbourne. I’ve been stalking it for hours… and hours… and hours. Now it’s your turn. A little bit brutalist with hard concrete surfaces but softened with rugs and art and furniture. Soaring ceilings and cosy spots. Love the backyard too. Once again a great campaign by the real estate agents Marshall White including a video that sells the house even better than the photos. Link here while it lasts.

Britquirk

Britboho. Britbrash. Britquirk. Brittattered. Britstyle. Homes with personality. Homes that don’t take themselves seriously. Homes that look great with kids in them and the remains of last night’s boozy dinner with friends left uncleared on the table. Dogs and rambling gardens and wellies and knocks and dings and tarnish and way too much dusting and layers and layers of memories and family treasures. I love Britboho. I love this East Sussex home from locations firm Wilde & Watson. From the front door to the back paddock…. imperfectly perfect.
