A Miami condo

Posted on Fri, 12 Apr 2013 by KiM

Ruben Gutierrez of Errez Design sent us photos of one of his latest projects – a sweet condo in midtown Miami that affords fabulous views of Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami. Ruben utilized a combination of new pieces with antiques and vintage finds to create this eclectic and glamorous vibe. It’s colourful, sassy, and I love it – especially the mirrored dining nook. (Check out previous projects of Ruben’s here, here, here and here).

Maddalena’s home

Maddalena Cannarsa of extrArchitecture is an Italian architect living in London and this is her recently refurbished flat. Love the light and the period features. Those floors! That wall of wooden windows! A beautiful, fresh Euro/white meets Victorian period features home with splashes of red to heighten the warmth of the wood. Maddalena has cleverly tidied up the wasted space in the original layout allowing her the luxury of a walk in robe in a relatively small one bedroom flat. Wonderful, warm and white.

Sunshine yellow

Combine a wall of bright yellow framed windows, an expansive view of a leafy green canopy and abundant light and this apartment renovation by São Paulo based AR ARQUITETOS would brighten anyone’s day. A clever “wall of cubes” allows the light to penetrate further into the kitchen while providing much needed storage without heavy walls closing in the otherwise open plan public spaces. Living here would be sunshine yellow everyday!

An eclectic Parisian apartment

Posted on Wed, 27 Mar 2013 by KiM

Jo spread the love for French interior designer Joséphine Gintzburger a few times in the past (here, here and here) and I came across another one of her projects – an eclectic apartment in Le Marais. Only in this setting could a yellow chintzy floral sofa set actually look cute. Throw in a sleek red countertop, chandeliers, a turquoise Smeg and shower right next to the bed and you’ve got another quirky Joséphine space.

The pallet apartment

A tiny two storey apartment by Prague architects SMLXL Studio makes clever use of a difficult layout (three chimney breast pierce the space). White painted brick, open plan living, pallets as furniture and a definite industrial vibe all add up to a stylish home for its young owner. The original story is from Czech magazine Bydleni iDNES with thanks to reader Bara for the link and translation!
