White and Kaki

Posted on Mon, 1 Oct 2018 by midcenturyjo

Interior decorators Carlos Rocha and Vítor Duarte of White and Kaki must have reached into my imagination and made my dream of a Portuguese getaway come true. Neutral tones, texture on texture, an earthy sophistication. Throw the doors open to coastal breezes or escape indoors to the cool of stone and plaster. The perfect marriage of its Mediterranean roots, tribal influences and industrial touches. You’ll find me slumped on a white sofa or soaking in the bedroom tub.

Dancing on the ceiling

The marble bathroom is amazing. The powder room is rich with pinks and reds. The staircase is suitably grand but it’s the dining room that will have you dancing on the ceiling. Talk about packing a design punch! Niederhurst by New York based interior designer Sara Story.

Comfy and casual, with lots of vintage pieces in this remodeled cottage by London-based interior design firm ALL & NXTHINGThis was a big passion project for us, an old wreck nestled in awesome De Beauvoir, Hackney. We took a tired 1890’s cottage and re designed every inch of it utilising its beautiful original bones and adding to its character. Highlights include the double height bathroom with exposed brick and bateau tub and the extended open plan kitchen with exposed beams, concrete floors, log burner and our bespoke kitchen design incorporating Terrazzo and reclaimed parquet worktops.
