“Originating from two separate, neighbouring terrace homes dating back to 1865, and now, merged as one, West Block, is a perennial, light-filled home. Inspired by the clients love and patronage of the arts, West Block sought to fuse a lyricism of historical romance and complexities, with a contemporary vernacular that was more avant-garde. Due to its original state of two separate, narrow residences, the project intervened with its labyrinth-like layout and consolidated and streamlined the ergonomics of the space, whilst still maintaining intimacies throughout the plan.”

“A rustic-modern vineyard estate designed to prioritize the home’s soaring views. The interiors thoughtfully layer textural finishes to bring the comfort level up and balance the large scale of this inspiring residence.”
It’s about the materials, the light and the details in this Napa Valley home. Modern lines and natural finishes bring warmth and style while always on view are the stunning exteriors. Favourite parts? The shelving in the living room and the light-filled kitchen. Calistoga by Jennifer Robin Interiors.

Dave is a longtime reader of our blog and recently wrote us to share his absolutely incredible Montréal loft with us, that he had torn down to the studs and completely renovated in 2018. Unfortunately he now has to sell it but wanted to share it with us before he leaves. A bit of info about it: 15ft ceilings, exposed brisk, 2 gas fireplaces, 2+1 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living space of 1760 sq ft and a mezzanine of 900 sq ft, private roof top terrace 21′ x 34′. Dane not included 😉
WOW!!!! I am totally smitten. This loft has EVERYTHING. Thank you Dave for sharing your home with us!
A few before photos to show you the extent of the work that was done…
In the event you are in the market for the loft of your dreams, here is the listing.
“This romantic San Francisco town house, bathed in pale pinks and gossamer blues, belongs to an adventurous couple who live not far outside the city. Based on conversations with them, the fanciful conceit for our design was that this is a place where the husband comes to visit his wife in her private lair. As such, the décor falls decidedly on the feminine side. Vive la difference, vive l’amour!”
