A classic family home with an edge. That’s how Katie Hackworth describes her reworking of this house in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. From it’s stylish formal living areas to the classic kitchen with funky dining area to the side, from the serene master bedroom to the fun kids’ rooms the home is timeless, authentic and fab.

Polished concrete floors with exposed aggregate, rendered bathroom walls, raw brass, painted brick, breeze block, open plan living. These are a few of my favourite things. Oh I forgot to mention re-imagined retro houses, the swan-like transformation from tired blonde brick and boxy, dark rooms into stylish, light filled spaces perfect for beachside living. A 150 m2 home that was uninhabited for quite some time in Barcelona with no personality and lacking in light and flow was totally transformed by Bárbara Aurell, interior architect and designer of Espacio en blanco. I would guess Bárbara has a thing for white, and it seems so do these homeowners. This apartment was transformed with lots of white paint and furnishings and the result is charming and bright. And the bathroom is to die for! Via Nuevo Estilo.
Haussmannian architecture, signature furniture pieces and a foyer now converted to a library full of books. Just about ticks all the boxes for my perfect Paris apartment. I think I’ll be moving in to this Alma Marceau residence by Studio CMP.
I have adored this bathroom for years, I think having first spotted it in the portfolio of Paul Raeside, one of my favourite photographers. Now I come to learn it is designed by Les Trois Garçons. Dreamy!!!
