“Perfect blend of curated modern elegance and highly functional, timeless design”…. “The desire to create a level of sophistication that is never pretentious” …. “Poise and ease are achieved by balancing an artful sense of color and texture, highly bespoke custom furniture with impeccable attention to detail, and incorporating significant antiques and contemporary collectible design pieces that offer curiosity and a sense of wonder” …These are the design principles behind New York & Miami based designer Sandra Weingort.

I am curious… if you purchased a very old home with loads of character, complete with peeling wallpaper, peeling paint, original doors and windows etc…..how much would you want to keep vs salvage and live with? Kudos to the owners of this home in Pau, France (Lisa and Julien Ménard and their 5 kids) for maintaining much of the period details. Stripping it of its history would have been cruel. Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. AM Office  by Pernille Lind Studio.

When colour brings life to a home that was in need of someone’s special touch. In 2018, Blyth-Collinson Interiors was engaged by a London couple to update a Capability Brown designed house in Oxfordshire which had recently been unoccupied and sadly, somewhat neglected. Saskia and her team provided a much needed boost of energy to the tired interiors; enlivening each room with colour and warmth to show-case the clients’ eclectic antique and art collections, which reflect their unique interests and their international lives and travels. Specialist paint techniques were employed so that every room tells a distinctive story. Sumptuous soft furnishings combine with wonderful carpets, art, beautifully bound books and sculpture to invigorate this lovely home with flair and a certain sophisticated, bohemian aesthetic.

Chad Dorsey Design

I really appreciate designers who set out to create wow moments in their designs. In the case of Chad Dorsey and “the listening room” it’s this sumptuous deep red/burgundy wall colour with matching furniture (Ginger Snap by C2 Paint). In his “covid nights” bar area it’s another punchy colour enveloping everything but the floor. Birds in a ceiling alcove, and a massive brass hood with royal blue stove in an all white kitchen are just a couple more from his portfolio. WOW indeed!!!
